Mel Gibson's child custody and child support settlement Orders Are finalized
Mel Gibson's relationship woes have been in the media for some time now. Finally, he and his ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, will have some resolution about the future concerning their now two-year-old daughter. That they both love their daughter has never been a question. Out of that love, they have both been able to focus on her best interests. Now they have reached a custody and support agreement.
Under the child custody arrangement, both Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva will share joint legal and physical custody of their daughter, Lucia. Oksana will live in Mel Gibson's California home until Lucia turns 18-years-old, when the home will be sold in order to create a trust for their daughter's future.
As for child support, Mel Gibson has agreed to pay a total of $750,000 for the financial needs of his daughter, to be paid in three $250,000 installments over the next five years.
Hopefully, for the sake of their daughter, these celebrity parents will continue to put aside their differences and their emotions. This resolution appears to do just that. It makes sense to concentrate on their daughter's life ahead of her and avoid the drama that has ensued since she was born. With these child custody and support arrangements, both parents and their daughter will hopefully be able to move forward with their lives under terms that are fair to everyone.
